So over the next few days my Deviantart account will be filled with "new" sketches. I use the word new loosely because based on when the were drawn, they are a few months old.
I am nearing the end of my sketchbook and hope to have it completed and everything uploaded this month. Over the past year I told myself that no matter what ended being drawn in my sketchbook I would post it here and I've kept true to it. Even going so far as to give lengthy descriptions for some of them. The reason for this was because I felt frustrated when I would look at someone else's artwork I would only see the "good" pieces and not the "bad" ones.
Unless the person was a beginner or was doing a drawing meme, I would not see the incomplete sketches or the bad days or any kind of proof that a sketchbook was not just another pretty masterpiece to be admired from afar. I wanted to show others that an artist can have bad drawing days or have a drawing that never went anywhere.
I understand that people everywhere, no matter what platform they are on, want to show the best version of themselves, but I also believe that we need to embrace our past selves and be unafraid for others to see our mistakes and rocky beginnings. While I do plan to show the rest of my sketchbook until I fill up the last page, I cannot say the same thing for future sketchbooks.
It can be quite tiring scanning in every page and giving a description explaining a backstory behind each drawing. So for future sketch books you can expect updates to be more sparse with "higher quality" drawings posted. (Depending on the rate I improve)
